Mango House is a 30-40 minutes distance by car to and from the Seychelles International Airport and approximately 60 minutes from Victoria. A contemporary and intimate retreat, providing the backdrop to multilayered experiences, creative ingenuity, and expansive views enveloped in the rugged nature of the Seychelles.

One time is enough
My wife and me were staying at Mango House, Mahé, for 5 nights during our travel around 3 islands. It was our final stay to keep it comfortable as the International Airport is on Mahé island. First of all we like to point out that Mango House is not a Beach Hotel. If you expect to have a nice sandy beach to walk in you are wrong to try this hotel. There is a really small sandy bay but it will be flodded during high tide and the setting is framed by lots of coral. If you like to avoid scratches you need to use the three pools or you leave the hotel to an outside beach. But, the Hotel itself is very nice and stylish built up on a small rock/hill surrounded by amazing gardens. About 40 rooms make it very intimate. There is just one restaurant outside the hotel to be reached by feet in 5 minutes. If you like to try different restaurants you need to order a transport.
What we like:
- as mentioned already the style of the hotel is very pretty.
- The whole team is really kind and friendly. We like to mention the following team members who made our stay really pleasant. Ms. Rachel at the reception. The sun is shining bright when you are in the place. Thank you for your kindness and all the best to you and your career. Ms. Liza in the restaurant service. You were like "mum" to us!!! I hope that the sound system will continue its work with lots of dancers....., Ms. Marie-Ella also in the Restaurant service. It was so nice talking to you during breakfast time. Next time we will follow you to Beau Vallon. Finally Mr. Thomas from Kenya at the SOLAY Bar. You're the one. Every time available, every time a nice talk. That's what guests like. All the best to you as well.
- The daily complemantery Apertivo in the Lobby/Terrace.
- The spacious rooms. We had a standard room which was quite comfortable.
- Housekeeping twice a day.
- Breakfast is departed in an a la carte and buffet part.
- Very good Japanese restaurant
What we do not like that much:
- The hotel in total is absolutely overpriced. If you go to the Seychelles you know to need a full credit card but value for money is something poor.
- A glass of standard wine will cost you approx. €17,--/0,15cl.
- A Veg. Pizza is approx. €35---. Nothing special, a piece of dough, some veggies and cheese to cover. Take-away quality.
- a bowl of broth including some veggies which my wife asked to bring to the room because of her sickness was charged with €35,-- as well. Good joke.
- Food in Muthya and Muse Restaurant in total was something poor.
- Service in the restaurants feels like having a group of beginners. To avoid misunderstandings they all are very kind but most f them do not know what they are doing. Sorry to say.
- A beach bag to carry your things during the day was not included in the standard room rate. How poor is that? Sorry for booking the wrong room. At the reception we were told to bring a bag to our room. Nothing happened.....
- The team is drilled to sell. A taxi to Victoria should cost €90,-- one way. A local bus will cost you €1,-- /one way for two persons.
- The showers and facilities for guests who need to spend the day to take the evening flight back hoe are broken. Nobody knows "Oh sorry, we need to have an eye on it".
Finally we do not recommend this Hotel. The reasons are mentioned above and we will go to South East Asia again next time to receive a better experience for half the money.

incredible experience at Mango House. it is literally paradise!! all the team are so professional, from the reception team to the teams in the restaurants to all the teams maintaining the gorgeous grounds. everybody goes above and beyond to make sure that you have a memorable stay. A special shout out to Anna, Nathalia and Emma who were always so warm and friendly but If i could name every single member of staff I would because everyone works so hard and deserves to be recognised. if you get the chance to visit mango House, you absolutely should it was one of the most relaxing and gorgeous holidays.
Exceptional Service
A Truly Memorable Stay at Mango House Seychelles. A special thank you to Chef Mohammed and Chef Samar. They were both incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made the dining experience genuinely memorable. The food was excellent, and their hospitality made us feel very well looked after.
I’d also like to thank Liza, Marie-Ella, and Emma for their kindness and great service throughout the stay. Everyone was warm, professional, and always happy to help.
Mango House is a beautiful property, but the team is what really made the experience stand out. Thank you all for such a memorable stay, I would definitely love to return.
Ferrari that keeps breaking down
We had high expectations for Mango House, and I want to start by saying that the staff were absolutely amazing. From the front reception and restaurant teams to the bartenders, bellhops, and housekeeping, everyone we encountered was warm, kind, attentive, and professional. Our disappointment was not with the people—it was with the property and the number of maintenance and quality-control issues we experienced during such a short stay.
The best way I can describe our experience is like owning a Ferrari that keeps breaking down. It looks beautiful and luxurious, but at this level, everything should work and the small details matter.
Our shower would not properly turn hot because the diverter appeared to be malfunctioning. The stones along the bottom of the shower looked like they had mold or mildew growing on them. In some of the common-area bathrooms, there were no paper or linen hand towels, leaving only tissue paper to dry your hands. We also encountered soap and lotion bottles that appeared to have been mixed up, with the wrong product coming out of the labeled bottle.
More concerning, an umbrella by the pool actually fell on my wife. Poolside service was also inconsistent—you often had to actively look for someone if you wanted to order a drink or food. Even some of the pool towels were noticeably worn and torn along the edges.
The beach was another disappointment. It was extremely rocky, and I cut myself twice trying to swim. For us, comfortably swimming from the beach was essentially out of the question.
We have been fortunate to stay at many five-star hotels and resorts around the world, and unfortunately, Mango House simply did not measure up to that standard during our visit. There were too many things that seemed to “break down” or fall short in the short amount of time we were there.
To the resort’s credit, management did acknowledge some of the problems and waived some of our meals and drinks, which we appreciated.
There are certainly positives. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the property has tremendous potential, and the breakfast was wonderful. Most importantly, the staff deserve recognition because they were genuinely fantastic throughout our stay.
With better maintenance, attention to detail, pool service, and quality control, Mango House could absolutely deliver the five-star experience its beautiful setting and excellent staff deserve. Unfortunately, based on our stay, 3 stars feels appropriate.

What truly sets this resort apart is its extraordinary team. The entire staff across every department was exceptionally warm, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our entire stay. Whether interacting with the front desk team, housekeeping, or the restaurant staff, every single team member went out of their way to ensure we were completely taken care of. A special thank you to Mariam, Sophie, Violet, Ahmed, Josie, Rachel, Marie-Ella, Anna, Stepanette, Yuliya, Anna (Restaurant), Emma (Restaurant), Marie, Ella, and Michael—each of you made a lasting impression and made our time here feel personal and effortless.
