Coffee stop Akithma
We always visit this coffee shop for tea or coffee whenever we’re in Sri Lanka. Akithma always takes such wonderful care of us, welcoming us with a big smile and making us feel right at home every time we visit.
Her warmth, kindness, and positive attitude truly make our visits special. We wish her all the very best and hope she continues to spread the same wonderful energy and hospitality wherever she goes!
Pleasant stay with friends staff and nice ambiance
I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The overall experience was relaxing and enjoyable, with a lovely ambiance that made my time there even more special. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay, which added to the positive experience.
The food was really good, and I especially enjoyed the buffet. There was a nice variety of dishes to choose from, with plenty of options to suit different tastes. The quality and selection of the food made my meals enjoyable, and I was very happy with the overall dining experience.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, and a nice variety at the buffet. I had a great time and would definitely consider staying here again. A pleasant experience overall and a place I would be happy to recommend to others.
Serivce was wonderful
Judiya was very help and very sweet full from The begging to the end of our lunch time in lagoon with the family , and the food was amezing . We will visit aging and again .
Serious guest privacy concerns and poor complaint handling
I am deeply disappointed with Cinnamon Grand Colombo’s handling of a privacy concern following my two-night stay.
After submitting feedback privately through the hotel’s survey, I received an unexpected WhatsApp call on my Australian mobile number from someone I did not know. I replied with “????” to prompt the caller to identify themselves. My message was read but initially went unanswered. Details on the WhatsApp profile led me to Instagram and Facebook profiles that appeared to identify the caller as an employee of Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
I submitted a formal complaint on 28 August 2026. Following that complaint, I received further WhatsApp messages from the same number at approximately 3:26 am and 3:47 am Sri Lankan time. The sender identified himself as a hotel assistant manager and said he was contacting me about my feedback. This was particularly concerning because the hotel had already responded by email and provided the email address of a female manager should I wish to discuss my survey comments further.
I had not given this individual my number or consented to WhatsApp contact. I found the unexpected contact unsettling and asked management to explain how my number had been obtained, whether the contact was authorised, and how my personal information would be protected.
The handling of my complaint made matters worse. It was mistakenly closed, which the hotel subsequently acknowledged and apologised for. On 2 September, management promised to provide the investigation outcome within 30 days of receiving my complaint.
That deadline expired on 27 September. As of 4 October 2026, 37 days after my complaint, I have still received neither the investigation outcome nor an explanation for the delay.
I gave the hotel an opportunity to investigate privately and waited beyond its promised timeframe before posting this review. I remain without answers to my concerns.
Guests should feel comfortable providing honest feedback without becoming concerned about how their personal contact details are being accessed and used. The unexpected contact, mistaken closure of my complaint and missed response deadline have seriously undermined my trust in Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
