Dubai is definitely safe for getting although much quieter than it has been in the past. I was booked at Jumeirah muscat Bay in Oman. And I’d say change to this Hotel last minute as we are usually booked in at Sofitel thinking that we have a relaxing stay. We stayed at dar al masyaf two years ago and the service there was fantastic.
We reached here at 2:30 pm in the afternoon before checking and they told the desk you come here for a celebration and for anniversary et cetera, which would’ve been recognised and was recognised at our stay in Oman. Whilst we waited, we were not offered any complimentary drinks or water Once we checked into our room, there was nothing there to welcome us at the Hotel nor personalised anything in the room which is a first for myself for any hotel in Dubai. After unpacking again at reception, we were notified that the pools were closed that they were limited Restaurant options, I had to ask two times for the list of restaurants as we were half board. We didn’t have a beach bag in the room. We didn’t have any of the amenities that we normally would’ve had when you arrived to a hotel not even a fruit bowl! When in bed that evening I woke up due to loud noises from the room Next Door and to my surprise they were actually ants in the bed. I would upload the picture but I don’t wanna put anyone off. Don’t get me wrong they address the situation the next day but because we were only there for three days it wasn’t worthwhile changing rooms and even though I explained I had eczema, et cetera. The only thing that was offered was a deep clean. Which we took because the room offer was not an upgrade even though I was a silver member. Being a silver member normally means you get an afternoon tea or some sort of recognition at the Hotel, but I’ve got absolutely nothing. After the incident with the ants when we went down to say where the pool is, we were only offered the option of one pool which in the past was an adult only pool and the kids pool was under construction. The main pool your child couldn’t be in there unless you were at the pool with them and there were no sunbeds available they were on the beach so as a parent you put sunbath on the sunbed you had to stay in the pool with the children and the pool was over flowing. Recognised that we weren’t going to have the holiday that we were expecting, which was gutting because we didn’t want to trips around in 45° heat but didn’t have anything else to do but go out and do excursions in air-conditioning. When I asked if we could use the pool in Al Naseem we were informed that would have to be a payable factor again something we weren’t told because last time we never had this issue. Dinner options again were very scarce we went half board thinking that the food was amazing last time. Don’t get me wrong. The quality was there but the options were very little. At breakfast I had to request things such as peanut butter Greek yoghurt any surplus food was just not out there which I appreciate was to reduce food wasted but there was no menu where you could have other food and other people that we met, I said the same thing that the options have gone down. When I asked for another bowl of Greek yoghurt for my husband, they said to me I’ve already given you one. I can’t give you another one which I was mortified for considering how much I’ve paid for this Hotel. I totally get they’ve had a massive impact from the war but the quality has dropped massively at this particular hotel. I would not stay at this particular one again. I would probably pay more money when the other ones reopen but being a silver member absolutely nothing. I complained multiple times about the lack of quality and service. I got sent a plate of fruit to my room to apologise. Even at Check out there wasn’t anything special. The water parks were closed in the end we had to request if they would pay for us to go to Aqua venture which they did refund me but not the locker which was 20 quid but they needed to understand that if the waterpark wasn’t closed at this hotel, we wouldn’t have had to go there and get a locker because we had a hotel room here. Overall, when you work hard back home and you save your money to go somewhere nice the quality in the service was just not there So if you are looking to stay here, wait until all the construction work and everything‘s finished after November because even the hotel staff at the pool said that everything has gone down. Save your money and go elsewhere and stay on the palm
Absolutely amazing experience. Great staff, large rooms and amazing food.
The guest experience and staff was amazing. Especially the Manager at Front Desk - She was perfect with checking in, attitude, very warm welcoming.
My wife and I have stayed at Mina Al Salam several times the last few months, we are silver tier and the experience continues to be exceptional. The hotel itself is beautiful, with excellent service at the beach restaurant and recreation, wonderful atmosphere, and with the best level of hospitality expected from Jumeirah.
A special thank you to all recipients who are the face of the hotel, and a very special thanks to Aziz at reception, who has always assisted us during our last few visits. He is consistently professional and warm welcoming, accommodate our preferences, makes the arrival and stay feel smooth and personal. It is people like Aziz who make us as guests want to return. His level of service reflects extremely well luxury brand as Jumeirah Mina Al Salam.
