Royalton CHIC Cancun

The atmosphere at the Royalton Chic was great! Everyone was so nice & always so helpful. Cesar & Alfonso were our butlers & they did great!!! Always fast responses & great attention to detail! The food was good too, everyone said the food was just “okay” but I actually loved it!! My only complaint is you can’t get premium liquor after 10 PM with the diamond club :/ & the parties are over early like 1AM.

Shout out to Ashanty in the spa, she did AMAZING with my massage & I highly recommend her!! Can’t wait to go back!

Had high hopes for this hotel after seeing such good reviews online and because of those we opted for the diamond club service complete with our own personal Butler. On reflection the service was not worth the additional cost although we cannot fault the hard work of Monse. She always had a lovely welcoming smile. Her and Daniel made a real effort blowing up birthday balloons to decorate the room for my special day. In terms of the hotel, it is clean with an abundance of staff but there is a smell of damp on the corridors and when there’s a heavy downpour the external lift to the top floor isn’t watertight and the rain comes through. There were buckets, towels and slippery wet marble stairs to contend with. We were also woken at night by the corridors being swept and woke to find towels lining them, likely explains the damp smell. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, we had some maintenance issues with our room but these were resolved by the hotel after signing an NDA. The hotel prides itself on being a party place and hosts a lot of American bachelor and bachelorette parties all having a lot of fun!! At times we encountered people vomiting into their hats in the lift and there were sinkfuls of vomit in the restrooms. Regarding outside space, the pool areas and beach were well maintained and the diamond club also has a separate pool area. This does have limited poolside seating and is in the shade by mid afternoon. Towels and belongings cannot be left whilst you go for lunch and will be cleared away by the pool staff and handed to the lifeguard. It was nice to be served drinks whilst on the beach. Level 18 is promoted as being a rooftop party venue accessible to those in diamond club however it is managed separately to the hotel and therefore drinks come at a price often requiring the purchase an expensive bottle of spirits. It is also closed when there are no parties taking place, therefore feels like a misrepresentation for the guests. In terms of food, there are a number of different restaurants to dine at and all of good quality. They are open on different nights and reservations are required for the à la carte venues. Butlers do help with this but the hotel app is available. There are branded drinks in the hotel bars anyway, therefore the additional availability of other brands as part of the diamond club did not feel worth it. We booked excursions through the hotel and were offered discounted rates if we met for a 90 minute breakfast with a member of the prime team this is essentially what feels like the old timeshare arrangement where you give your time for a sales pitch to join the costly prime club. Our meeting was cancelled as soon as I began to raise issues with the hotel itself clearly they thought it wasn’t worth an hour and a half of their time!! Overall, this hotel is conveniently located and whilst not perfect we had an enjoyable time.

We loved our vacation. The suite was large and stocked with drinks and snacks. Plenty of space and bathrooms. What really made it special was the people who work here. Everyone is helpful warm and happy. Our butler Ceasar was super great.
