My review
Week 32 families are the best with your crew. From Moises & Oliver pool server, Ricardo at La Veranda, Leo bellboy and lifeguard, Nanci excellent supervisor and hard worker, and Noehmi at front desk. You have an exceptional staff and I pray that they get paid well when we paid a heavy price for a week. The staff is what keeps us going for 6 years straight. Please help each family reach a healthy and loving income for their families that they work hard for. A resort is a resort but the love from your employees is what makes everyone keep on coming back.
We’ve been owners for 21 years and have been very happy! We just returned from our week and have mixed feelings. The lobby in Phase II was not well air conditioned and was under whelming! We don’t remember this from prior years. The rooms are adequate - nothing fancy. We face the ocean and enjoyed watching the turtles come to shore at night and the egg retrieval. This was the first time we did All Inclusive and overall we were not satisfied. There are limited options and some are at the sister resort for which you need to take a shuttle. We decided to not go due to the shuttle times - not enough shuttles in our opinion. The breakfast buffet was decent, it’s basically the same every day. Not enough variety. The omelette and crepe station saved the day! We went one night for dinner and decided to not return - food was cafeteria quality at best. The Hacienda Sisal was our go-to. Very good food, good options, great service. We went to the Bistro for dinner on our last night and the steaks were fantastic! The pasta dishes were not good - they tasted like day old reheated pasta. The Red Berry Cheesecake was really good! Room service was good - it takes abut 45 mins, regardless when. Call the night before and give your breakfast order and time you’d like it and they are punctual! Poolside service was inconsistent, more help was needed. The mixed ceviche poolside was really good! The resorts french fried were decent when hot otherwise tough and dry. More variety and better quality food is needed. Tip: the Aqua Park (kids waterpark) serves corn dogs! The Aqua Park was fantastic! Our 2 year old grandson had a great time there and even adults can go on a couple of the slides! Hidden gem! All the pool activities are at the main pool - hyped up like being on a cruise. We prefer the Phase II pool - very quiet with great regional music playing. Some activities on the Phase II side would be nice - like Bingo. The chairs are reserved very early at the main pool, so good luck. Not so with Phase II pool! The removal of the sargassum was not consistent and could be better - the few midweek days it was not done at all. The market onsite is good for last minute items and snacks. It’s not overly expensive. There is gelato served inside the market at the coffee bar but neither are included in the AI - this is unfortunate. One thing that hasn’t changed is the breathtaking landscape. Overall it was a great stay! With a few tweaks and attention to detail and a total food revamp, the Royal Sands would be returned to the great resort of years past.
Just finished our sixth visit to this lovely resort. We appreciate the family atmosphere, the bounteous and delicious buffets at La Veranda, and the first class service from the staff. We also enjoyed a delightful dinner at Hacienda Sisal, complete with live mariachi band, and a buffet at La Palapa at the Royal Cancun, both included in the all-inclusive package. A special shout out to Eliazar for the warm welcome, Riccardo and Sergio for the turtles, and Regina in reservations who always takes good care of us. However, one cautionary note this trip was the lack of sargassum mitigation on the beach. In prior trips, every morning the mechanical beach rake tractor cleaned the beach. This trip, nothing was done from Sunday to Thursday, then on Friday a tractor finally came but only cleaned about 20% of the beach. In some spots the wall of sargassum reached three feet high and ten feet wide, making it difficult to access the water even on the days when it was clear enough to swim, and making it almost impossible for the baby turtles born each night to reach the sea. Whomever made the decision to cut back on sargassum mitigation made an extremely short-sighted decision. Whatever little money is saved not having the tractor every morning will be more than offset by lost revenue, as few people will buy a time share or book another all-inclusive week for an unusable beach. This needs to be addressed.
Is beautiful hotel. I loved !. Excellent general service. Please I need to be in touch with the entertainer Manger thank you .
