Our stay at Devossion Resort Cancun was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked through the front doors, we knew we were somewhere special. The resort has a luxurious atmosphere, but what truly sets it apart is how it makes you feel. Every interaction made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued, and that level of hospitality remained consistent throughout our entire stay.
We decided to upgrade to the King Oceanfront Suite with butler service, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Our butlers, Guillermo and Mauricio, were absolutely outstanding. They didn’t simply respond to requests—they anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. Whether we needed something in the room, had a question about the resort, or wanted assistance with reservations, everything was handled quickly and professionally.
One of the highlights of our trip was celebrating my wife’s birthday. After Guillermo asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, he suggested decorating our room. When we returned, we were greeted with a beautifully arranged surprise featuring balloons, rose petals, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries. It was an incredibly thoughtful gesture that made the celebration unforgettable.
Our upgrade also included access to the VIP Lounge, which overlooks the ocean. The premium liquor selection, excellent food, and breathtaking views made it one of our favorite places to relax. Anna and Marcella provided exceptional service throughout the week, always greeting us with a smile and making sure we had everything we needed.
The dining experience exceeded our expectations. Every restaurant was excellent, but three stood out.
The Japanese restaurant offered outstanding service, delicious ramen, and incredible attention to detail. Even the napkins were folded into beautiful kimono-inspired origami. When the manager noticed my interest, she personally came to our table and took the time to teach me how to fold one myself. That small interaction perfectly captured the resort’s commitment to creating memorable experiences.
The Mexican taco restaurant served authentic, flavorful tacos in one of the most unique settings we’ve experienced. We enjoyed dinner at tables set directly in the water beside the pool, allowing us to dine barefoot with our feet in the water. It was both relaxing and unforgettable.
The true highlight, however, was the Italian restaurant. In my opinion, it is the flagship restaurant of the resort. The presentation of every dish was beautiful, the wine pairings were excellent, and the lasagna was quite honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Chef Agostino personally came by our table to make sure everything was perfect, demonstrating the same attention to detail we experienced throughout the resort. They also surprised my wife with a birthday dessert that was just as impressive as the rest of the meal.
The spa deserves special recognition as well. Beautifully designed with a peaceful Mayan-inspired atmosphere, it provided the perfect place to unwind. The hydrotherapy facilities, including the lap pool and cold plunge, were fantastic, especially after spending time in the Mexican sun. A wonderful bonus was that after booking a spa treatment, we were given an additional day to enjoy the spa facilities, which we happily took advantage of.
The pool experience was equally impressive. With multiple infinity pools throughout the property, attentive servers constantly offering drinks and food, and stunning ocean views, it was incredibly easy to spend entire days simply relaxing.
One moment perfectly summed up the level of service at this resort. One evening, I thought I had lost my phone after its battery died and the location appeared somewhere else on the property. I stopped by the front desk for assistance, and by the time I returned to our room, the hotel manager was already there waiting to help. That level of genuine concern and proactive customer service is rare and speaks volumes about the staff.
Although we spent most of our time at the resort, we also felt completely safe walking outside the property to explore the nearby shops and enjoy the local area, which added even more to the experience.
Overall, Devotion Resort exceeded our expectations in every way. The beautiful accommodations, exceptional restaurants, luxurious amenities, and—most importantly—the incredible people made this one of the best all-inclusive vacations we’ve ever experienced. Every member of the staff made us feel like honored guests, and their attention to detail was evident in everything they did.
I would rate our stay a 9.5 out of 10 and would absolutely recommend Devotion Resort Cancun to anyone looking for a luxurious, adults-only, all-inclusive getaway. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I first visited this resort in January 2026 and loved it so much that we returned in August with our daughter and her friend. We love the relaxed vibe and the natural beauty of Devossion. The infinity pools are lovely and the cooling breeze on the beach is delightful. The food at all the restaurants is consistently good and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the stretch and pilates classes with Erick. While I didn’t take his pool Zumba class, I was amazed at his dance maneuvers. He has great energy and obviously enjoys his job. If you are looking for a party atmosphere, this isn’t the resort for you. If you wish for a relaxing vacation with delivery food and great service and enough activities to keep you entertained, than Devossion is your place.
Incredible location with beautiful beaches, incredible food and fantastic amenities. But the staff truly make the experience unforgettable. Everyone was so attentive, friendly and kind. Cannot say enough good things about the staff. Big shout out to the people employed there, really made the experience unforgettable. Really recommend the hotel if you are looking to be well cared for and eat some of the best food you’ll ever have, consistently delicious. Highly recommend taking advantage of their wellness program as well, Erick really does an incredible job of making the experience fantastic - both challenging and fun.
Had a terrific stay here at the beginning of July with my wife. The hotel is located in the city of playa, one block off 5th Ave, but once you are in the resort, you feel like you are in a remote, tropical retreat. Check in was easy. We opted to upgrade to a club level ocean view room. This came with butler service and access to the club level lounge. Our room was huge and had great views of the ocean. There was a living area and an entirely separate sleeping area. The balcony was spacious, and came with a plunge pool. We found the plunge pool too cold for our liking, but we spent a lot of time on the balcony. The air conditioning worked fantastic, and when I noticed the refrigerator was not keeping things as cold as we prefer, it was swapped out in under an hour.
Our butlers, Alexis and Guillermo, were amazing. They checked in multiple times throughout the day and evening to make sure all our needs were met, even decorating our room for our anniversary. The club lounge offered a nice air conditioned break from the rest of the resort, and it was a great place to get a snack and cocktail.
There was only one pool open during our stay as the other quiet pool was being worked on, but it was never overly busy, and we never had a problem finding chairs. We did get a bali bed for one day as part of our room upgrade, and we liked it so much, we paid for one another day. There were activities in and around the pool daily such as water aerobics. There was also a DJ. Pool service was good, and we really enjoyed the food in the pool area. There was also a drink cart that came around offering a cocktail of the day that was fun. Besides pool area activities, I participated in a mixology class, and a guacamole making competition, and had fun at both. The beach was nice, and we got in the ocean a few times. The sargassam wasn't that bad, and people worked very had to clean it up.
Service throughout the resort was fantastic. The grounds are well maintained. It's not a huge property, but it never really felt crowded.
The restaurants were a bit of a mixed bag for us, not because of quality of the food, but because our options o places to eat were limited. One restaurant was being worked on. This meant, there was only the buffet for breakfast. It's a really good buffet, and they serve tacos for breakfast, which I love. However, we were there for seven days, and it got a little repetitive. Service from Jaidy, Laura, and Marcela was phenomenal. We ate at the Japanese restaurant our first night, but didn't find anything we liked. Not that the food was bad, just not our palette. That meant that our dinner options were reduced to the Italian restaurant, and the steakhouse. Both were really good, but again, it got repetitive. The fish at the Italian restaurant was my favorite, and Gamboa might be the best waiter we've ever had on vacation. I enjoyed the steaks at the steakhouse as well.
You can tell they are putting a lot of work into this property, and I can't to return to see how things have progressed. Overall, it was a really good hotel, that is lacking a little due to their renovations.
Melanie!!! We loved her. She made our time here worthwhile. Thank you Melanie for you beautiful smile and kindness.
