Great Experience! I wish there were more Secrets properties with an Impressions kind of experience. Please note, this is above and beyond the preferred club. Top notch experience, facilities and food for sure. If you have the opportunity to upgrade your vacation to Impressions, please know you won't regret it.
Our overall experience with impressions exceeds more than just the average all inclusive resorts. Our personal butler Maili and Zulda helped guide us through our journey and our experiences with them.
Impressions by Secrets Moxche is a gorgeous resort! The views were beautiful (although there were many barriers in the ocean to help with seaweed and waves) - crews worked every single morning to clean up seaweed and the beach. The beach is very small and we noticed it’s a public beach - locals would try to come up to people sitting or walking on the beach to sell goods or services. The variety of pools and restaurants were fantastic! One of the biggest downfalls during our stay was the construction at Impressions. After two days of being there, the entire front entrance was under construction while crews were replacing the stone walkway with tiles (to make it more friendly to handicap visitors). The main level Impression pool was also closed for 4 days out of our 7 night stay. The rooftop Impression pool was where we spent most of our time - lots of wait staff for drinks and lunch delivery from Cielo. Overall it’s a gorgeous resort and our butlers and concierge staff worked hard to accommodate everything we asked for.
Impressions Moxché by Secrets, swimout room 1125 facing into the resort. 15 year wedding anniversary.
Room: Great room, perfect layout. Lots of storage and space. Patio has a good amount of space with a chair, couch, and daybed. Swimout was great, used it every day in the afternoon after the pools, before dinner, and after evening events. Good foliage so not a lot of view but also not a lot of view from the path on the other side. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Happy Anniversary banner on our door was great. Only compliant, although we saw them cleaning at least twice, they swim out pools could use a little TLC. Some missing tile on the outside and some deeper cleaning of the bottom, there was a bit of sediment from the trees that accumulated.
Resort: Beautiful! Very well maintained. They are in process of updating walkways with travertine style so there were some access issues to get around to different areas and some sawing/chiseling during the day. I think the resort could do a little better with signage on where things are located, but the staff is more than willing to point you in the right direction.
Pools: we visited Impressions rooftop, Impressions Main, Moxche Main, and the Lagoon. We tried to do the Cenote pools one day but the umbrellas didn’t have a way to prop them open and we couldn’t find someone to help so we moved on. We felt they were very clean. We were lucky to get the impressions main pool one day because they closed it for the remainder of our trip to repair the dilapidated bridge. Our favorite was between moxche main and the lagoon. Lagoon pool is massive with lots of different water levels. The only pool that has a “deep” area of 10’. Chairs had really good sun in the afternoon. Main Moxche pool was definitely the “fun” pool. Chairs are occupied (no just reserved” by 10am. Activities were fun and there was some music. Was nice to have the swim up bar. We had a great time playing water volleyball with Jessica and Sergio, they made it very fun to play.
Food: we did not have a bad experience at a restaurant. Everything was delicious and very well prepared/plated. Allow your waiter/waitress to provide you with questions and always ask on portion sizing. Many times appetizers are for one person, so if you want to share you really should order two.
Teodoro: Alexander did an amazing job with his partner Pedro. We did the international wine pairing and Alexander explained each dish, the purpose of the plating and flavors, and wine pairing chosen. Not every dish was a favorite but we’ve done chef dinners like this and expected not to fall in love with every dish. We were super full at the end and it was a great opportunity, if you stay more than 5 nights at impressions I believe it’s free so, do this!
Bisou: One of our favorite reservations dinners. Ismal was an amazing server and Ana is one of the best hostess we had. Ismal went above and beyond with his service. Very attentive, adding in some additional dishes that were amazing! The food was awesome, we did not have a bad dish. Beef Wellington and Lambchops were cooked perfectly. Ana stopped by often and made sure everything was perfect and made it very personable.
SUKI: our last dinner before we left the following day. We had messed up and didn’t book any reservation for one evening. To our surprise, Ana from Bisou was hosting here doe someone with their evening off. She remembered us from Bisou and got us in right away with no wait. Jose was a great waiter, very attentive and made some great suggestions and additions to our meal (extra Gyoza and a third sushi roll). SUKI was a fun experience because the head chef came out to talk while we were waiting for our order. Very personable conversation about vacations and life.
Bamboo: Was convenient and very good. We loved the noodles and the ability to add protein. The spring rolls were good too!
Dinner under the stars: Observatory, private dinner with select menu and live piano. We a very cool experience we did for our anniversary dinner. Appetizers were delicious, lobster and steak were amazing! We had a special small cake provided as a surprise to celebrate our anniversary :)
Celio: was great for lunch while we were up at the impressions rooftop pool. The smashburger is a good as everyone says. The lobster rolls were decent, very small. Corn ribs were delicious as well.
Los Almas: we had this our first night because this is one of the only spots that doesn’t have reservation option. We got right in and had a delicious meal.
Seaside: we did a dinner grill buffet. It was delicious with a bunch of food options and live saxophone entertainment. Food was delicious and it was fun to eat down on the beach.
Allora: A good meal. It was very busy so service was a little slow and not as personable as others we ate at but it was one of our later reservations.
Our biggest like about this resort was the employees. They work so hard and really make the resort. They set up your towels, make sure you have everything you need. The chair service was great, bar service was awesome. They move around bars and remember you from one to another.
What really made it amazing was our butlers Maili and Zulda. They consistently went above and beyond for us. There was never a request that was not met and in turn done with a little extra personal touch. With the swimout we loved to have some wine or Champaign in the evening and they always coordinated with turn down service addition: like aromatherapy, a prepared bath, rose petals on the bed, personal notes. They helped us book our dinners and extras without any hiccups. Truly and amazing team.
We had a great experience!! Jose and Jessica were amazing on the bike tour we went on! We learned so much !
