Great! Super service and food
This year, I had the pleasure of spending my vacation at Viva Azteca, and I would like to share my experience.
First of all, the hotel itself is a large and beautiful resort where everyone can find something to enjoy. It is located in a safe and very well-maintained area. The resort has everything you need for a great holiday: a beach bar, several restaurants, a gym, relaxing areas, the Jaguar Café, a swimming pool, and its own private section of the beach. The beach is absolutely huge compared to what we are used to in Europe.
The food, both at the all-inclusive restaurants and the à la carte restaurants, was very good. There was a great variety of meat, seafood, fresh vegetables, and fruit every day. During my 11-day stay, I never felt hungry or bored with the food. There was always something different to try.The hotel staff are truly amazing people. Everyone is positive, friendly, smiling, and always ready to help. The housekeeping staff cleaned our rooms every day, and everything was always spotless. Whenever we needed something, they were happy to help.
The bartenders also deserve special recognition. They make great drinks and cocktails, and I especially want to mention the bartender at the bar in the main area of the hotel — he was fantastic!
However, I would like to give the biggest applause to the entertainment team. These are people who clearly work with passion and truly care about making sure that both children and adults have a great time during their stay. There wasn't a single day when I didn't take part in some kind of competition, challenge, or activity.A special shout-out to Ixel and Karli! They made every activity — whether it was Zumba, volleyball, football, yoga, or something else — fun and full of smiles and laughter. Together with the rest of the entertainment team, they organized activities from morning until evening, so there was always something to do.
The karaoke nights were also very well organized. Nobody felt embarrassed or uncomfortable, and the animator did a fantastic job encouraging everyone, creating a great atmosphere, and helping people feel confident enough to participate.
Overall, I had an amazing time at Viva Azteca. The beautiful resort, great food, friendly staff, amazing bartenders, and especially the incredible entertainment team made this vacation truly memorable.
Thank you to everyone who made my stay so enjoyable. I would definitely love to come back someday!
Beautiful resort. Very welcoming & clean. Food is good. We highly recommend their restaurant XUL-HA. Atmosphere, food and service was phenomenal. Big shout out to the team working there, Juan, Luis, Leo, and Eduardo!
This was one of the best holidays we have ever had! We stayed here during the Christmas season and were impressed by absolutely everything.
The hotel is beautiful and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Everything is clean, well maintained, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and cleaned perfectly every day.
The biggest surprise was the food. We have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts over the years, but the quality of the food here was outstanding. We enjoyed excellent steaks, carpaccio, fresh fish and seafood, Italian dishes, Mexican cuisine, and so many other options. It is impossible to list everything – everyone will find something they love. The food was not only very varied but also of excellent quality.
The beach looks like a postcard. Soft white sand, crystal-clear Caribbean water, plenty of sunbeds, and it never felt crowded. During the day, the staff served fresh fruit on the beach, and the bar made some of the best Mojitos we have ever tasted.
We also really enjoyed the evening shows. The entertainment team was fantastic. They didn't only perform in the evenings – during the day they spent time with the guests, had lunch with us, chatted, and made everyone feel welcome. It created a warm and friendly atmosphere that is often missing in other hotels.
Another thing that completely won our hearts was the wildlife around the resort. Every morning we looked forward to seeing the little agouti visiting our balcony. There were also iguanas and other local animals walking freely around the beautiful hotel grounds. It made our stay feel even more special and authentic.
If we ever come back to this area, there is no doubt that we will choose this hotel again. We highly recommend it! 🌴☀️🇲🇽
This was actually our first-ever all-inclusive that we have stayed at. The key thing when it comes to evaluating a resort is keeping your expectations in check. We have stayed at hotels with better food than the Viva Azteca and we've stayed at resorts with servers bringing you drinks on the beach. This is not the Viva Azteca. However, the service was solid and the food was solid (given the price point).
There are some things to note:
First, the resort is fairly large (though of course not the largest in PDC). I am handicapped and use a walker and walking from the pool area to the reception area was no joke. If you are abled body, no worries at all. But if you have trouble walking long distances, think twice about staying here.
Second, the resort in inside of a massive complex called Playacar. Ride shares are not allowed inside. You must take a taxi to go shopping or eat elsewhere outside the resort. I needed something from a pharmacy and instead of paying for a taxi, I opted to walk from the Viva Azteka to a small shopping center max 8-10min walk.
We did take a taxi once to go to one of our favorite restaurants (Lara and Luca); it cost 150 pesos for the ~7min drive. On way back, we used a ride share app called Indrive to go back to the Viva Azteca and it cost 72 pesos (plus tip). So rideshare works going to the Viva Azteka but you can't take it from the resort.
Third, the alcoholic drinks are basis, we're talking Jose Cuervo, not Patron. But anytime I wanted more ice in my water bottle, (bar tendered readily helped) .
Overall this resort is great for those who like to stay put at their resort.
