This beach resort is set close to a secluded beach, in a peaceful, ancient fishing village in Bali. The resort is located in the district of Canggu, lying just a 20 minutes' driving distance from the bustling area of Seminyak and its nightlife, restaurants and shopping opportunities. Kuta is located just a 45 minutes' driving distance away. This resort is conveniently located just a short distance from the airport. This beach resort enjoys a stunning design, comprises thatched luxury suites and pavilions. The resort showcases a charming, Balinese style, with wild lotus ponds dotted throughout the surroundings. The architecture reflects the rich art, culture and history of Bali. The resort comprises elegantly-appointed guest rooms, which offer an exotic cocoon of peace and serenity. Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I loved staycation at this unique living museum hotel!
Hotel Tugu Bali is built inside reconstructed 311-year-old temple known as Bale Sutra. This wonderful hotel allows guests to discover museum-quality treasures, ancient sculptures, royal artifacts & architectural masterpieces.
It is located in the heart of Canggu, just steps from Batu Bolong Beach. So we enjoyed sunsets in Canggu without long walk there.
We stayed at ‘Dedari suite’ with antique canopy bed, a tropical plunge pool outside and a private spa area with a unique sunken bath in open-air bathroom, along with a dreamy traditional daybed. It was one of the most beautiful bathrooms I've ever seen with fish in the pond. Even key for the suite is creative and really big! So be ready to carry with your big bag :))
The property is famous for its lush, expansive tropical gardens, serene lotus ponds with cute fish and antique-filled courtyards. We really enjoyed to walk here. So you have some kind of private park in the area.
At hotel you can choose any location on-site for your delicious breakfast. Once we even chose a wonderful gazebo with lilies. There we saw the best breakfast menu at hotels in Bali: you can choose 1 main, 2 side dishes, 1 fresh juice, 1 cup of tea / coffee + pastry plate. You can choose really interesting options for food and drinks here.
At Ji restaurant (Japanese cuisine from famous chefs with a popular terrace to see beautiful sunsets) and Dolan restaurant (dog friendly and family oriented with spacious outdoor park and live music on the weekend) I would advice to have a dinner. We spent there our evenings.
Hotel has so beautiful area near the spacious pool to chill and relax. Apart from classical sunbeds you can find higher ones. Even shower and signs for restrooms here look antique and creative.
There is a complimentary afternoon tea for guests of hotel: every day you will try new local food together with tea or coffee. My fav ones were with coconut milk.
Don’t miss a walk through the night hotel: it acquired a new magical appearance. So you can be in a fairy tail ambiance just being at hotel.
Staff were always attentive and kind. When we came, we got complimentary fruit platter, traditional bouquet and many deep rations with fresh flowers in the room. As well you will get welcome drink and have a special ceremony. There is a complimentary excursions for guests for hotel in the evening to know more about all masterpieces at hotel.
Unique and in the heart of Canggu. Unparalleled hospitality, amazing kindness and thoughtfulness and I'd like to thank all the staff, particularly Friska at the front desk. JI Restaurant is excellent as well
Second visit to this wonderful hotel. My favorite out of all the places I’ve stayed. Staff are amazing . It’s full of the most beautiful works of art. We ate at their Indonesian/ Thai restaurant and which is superb. It was full the second time we went so tugu put us in their 1920s dinni g room. Magical place . Loved it
Hotel Tugu Bali exceeded every expectation I had. I've stayed in beautiful hotels before, but this one offers something completely different. It isn't just a luxury hotel, it's an experience that celebrates Balinese culture, history, and hospitality.
Every corner of the property is filled with art, antiques, and fascinating details that make you want to slow down and appreciate the atmosphere. It feels peaceful, intimate, and incredibly authentic.
The staff made the experience even more memorable. Everyone was kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making my stay special.
My room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. I also loved the dining experiences, the food was outstanding, with both local flavours and international options prepared to a very high standard.
One of my favorite parts was simply spending time around the hotel, enjoying the gardens, architecture, and unique ambiance. It's the kind of place where every moment feels special.
I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Tugu Bali to anyone looking for more than just a beautiful place to sleep. It's a destination in itself.
We stayed at Hotel Tugu Bali for two nights during the dry season in July, and it was one of the most memorable hotels of our trip.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm and attentive service. Everyone was friendly, and their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable.
The hotel itself is beautiful. The traditional Indonesian architecture and antique decorations made it feel like we had stepped back in time and were experiencing the history and culture of Indonesia. At the same time, our room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, so we slept really well.
The swimming pool was spacious and spotless, making it a great place to relax. We also loved having our own private plunge pool in the room, which was a wonderful bonus.
It was our first time trying Indonesian cuisine, and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. Breakfast on the rooftop was another highlight—the view was absolutely beautiful, so I highly recommend going up there in the morning.
If we visit Bali again in the future, Hotel Tugu Bali will definitely be our first choice.
