The Kana Kuta

I stayed at this hotel for just one night, once again as a stopover during our trip through Bali. Although our stay was short, it was a very pleasant experience, and the hotel exceeded our expectations in several ways.

I would like to divide my review into several sections.

Location: The location is excellent. The hotel is relatively close to the airport and very conveniently located for exploring Kuta. Kuta Beach and the main shopping and commercial area are easily reachable on foot, approximately a 15–20 minute walk.

There are also plenty of facilities and services around the hotel, including restaurants, fast-food options, pizza, steaks and other choices, as well as plenty of shops and other useful services. Everything we needed was within easy reach.

Rooms: The room was excellent. It was modern, nicely decorated, spacious and very well presented.

We stayed in a family room spread over two levels. Downstairs there were two single beds, while upstairs there was a double bed. This arrangement was absolutely perfect for our family and gave everyone plenty of space.

The bathroom was also very pleasant, with a good shower and more than enough amenities.

Cleanliness: Excellent. The room was very clean, but so were the rest of the hotel and its common areas. I really had nothing negative to point out regarding cleanliness.

Staff & Service: This was probably the biggest highlight of our stay.

The staff were simply outstanding. Their friendliness, helpfulness and willingness to assist were genuinely remarkable.

From our initial communication via WhatsApp, the hotel was extremely flexible and helpful, clearly making an effort to ensure that we had a comfortable stay.

Our flight to our next destination was only in the evening, so although we only stayed one night, we had the entire following day to wait before leaving for the airport. The hotel offered us the possibility of a late check-out, although in our particular case it was not especially worthwhile. More importantly, they allowed us to continue using all the hotel facilities until it was time to leave — including the swimming pool, showers, gym and other facilities.

This was a fantastic gesture and something that I really appreciated.

The hotel also offers an airport transfer service, which was considerably cheaper and much easier than negotiating with taxis or using Grab. They also have luggage storage facilities, which was extremely useful while we were waiting for our transport to the airport.

Overall, I was genuinely impressed by the level of service and the attitude of the staff. They were consistently friendly, polite and willing to help.

Breakfast: The breakfast was exceptional and was probably the best breakfast I had during my entire trip.

There was an excellent variety of food, everything was very well presented, and the breakfast area itself was extremely pleasant, with a lovely view over the swimming pool.

There were plenty of options, including pancakes, omelettes and many other choices. Once again, the staff were extremely attentive and friendly.

A very pleasant surprise.

Swimming Pool: The swimming pool is beautiful and very enjoyable, with a good surrounding area and excellent facilities. It was a very pleasant place to relax during the day.

Maintenance – One Recommendation: There is really only one significant point I would recommend the hotel address.

Although the hotel itself is beautiful, with very attractive architecture and excellent facilities, it is starting to show signs that some maintenance work is needed.

Several areas would benefit from repainting, some wooden elements need repairing or re-varnishing, and some of the pool furniture and chair coverings are beginning to look worn.

It gives the impression that the hotel has not had a proper maintenance refurbishment since it was originally built. This is not a major problem today, but if these relatively minor issues are not addressed, I worry that the hotel could look considerably more tired in a few years.

The good news is that this would not require major renovation work. Some repainting, repairing or replacing a few wooden elements, and renewing some of the pool furniture coverings would make a huge difference and bring the hotel back to life.

Overall: Overall, this is a fantastic hotel with excellent facilities, spacious and comfortable rooms, a great location and, above all, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.

The service was genuinely one of the highlights of our stay, and the flexibility shown by the hotel was greatly appreciated.

With a little more attention to maintenance, I believe this hotel could become even better.

I would definitely stay here again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to other travellers.

The hotel is average, but certainly not four star ⭐️ . When we initially arrived to the hotel, we are so disappointed going from the reviews on booking.com and trip advisor rating this hotel "fabulous" and "four star".... . I would honestly say this is more like two star. Overall, the whole hotel is slightly rundown. The a/c units, the fridges, the woodwork even the paint work is all extremely tired and worn! And even the swiming pool is dirty however the room itself was clean even tho run down so credit to the cleaners. . In our room 238 the water pressure was extremely poor, the shower head needs replacing and the water was not warm at the highest setting. . How ever the staff are amazingly friendly, always available when needed. . We also had breakfast in the hotel every morning and it was average, alot of flys around the food so had to be particularly carefull . This hotel also advertises as having a SPA. This is not the case. The spa is completly closed. . The hotel is a 15/20 min walk from the beach front in Kuta, no noise from any roads in the hotel, and is nice walk although busy road. I have read some reviews saying it's not safe, however we think it's safe enough security wise, although it is very busy and trying to cross the road sometimes can prove a little dangerous. . We stayed for 4 nights, it was ok, just ok. Wouldnt stay here again. . But its all part of the experiance for a cheap hotel.
