We had wonderful 10 days in this resort and I honestly do not know where to start with describing what makes this resort special. First, the airport transfer- worked impeccable in both directions. We came well after midnight and catching a taxi is not a fun with so many competing passengers- so make sure you think about this. Hotel grounds are beautiful- worthy of hosting weddings and high scale events. Everything is impeccably clean. Stuff is so friendly and helpful everywhere especially at Prego and breakfast restaurant (shout out to wonderful Tia who greeted us every morning and the wonderful Balinese guy with A- sorry - I am terrible with names) . Also at the reception and concierge they went out of their way to help. I had an accident with the money at the temple and concierge guys organised a hotel doctor for me in few minutes, gave me a warm tea and helped me with reparation of my glasses. So big and heartfelt thanks for them. This is just big heart of Balineses and Indonesian people transpiring I think. We spent most of the time at the beach and elite pool . Beach is great, much cleaner (not much plastic debris) than I expected- the only problem is geography- beach disappears throughout low tides..so we had to chase the tide. Unfortunately the highest tide was for us mostly around midnight. When there is high tide you can swim nicely and safely- no urchins or squid. We tried following restaurants on the ground: Iran, Prego and Ganesha and ate mostly at first two. Ikan is amazing Indonesian food with modern twist. You are sitting on the beach and they organise small shows every night. Prego is so good and authentic -it could be in Milano or Bergamo. Ganesha is also excellent but inside, freezing cold and lots of screaming children. There are so many good upscale restaurant on the beach (Arwana was excellent on adjacent Marriott property) or for cheaper options head to Bali Collection Mall (you could walk through the the Beach). We booked a tour through Hotel to Nusa Penida and this was absolute highlight for the whole trip: snorkelling is amazing- riffs intact- wow just wow. There were few downsides . First beach loungers reservations. Some fellow Germans (the is a national sport ;o)) reserved best loungers on the beach in the morning would appear when tide was high . The loungers were empty for most of the day. My poor husband took advice from the beach boys and lied under crocheted umbrellas which do not offer real protection. He burnt badly (so management please do something about this- beach boys do not take care of this like in most of Marriott properties). Lounger reservations in 5 start property- c'mon please. The other thing that was not so well is sometimes when there were big groups (Australian companies events) it was extremely busy at the breakfast restaurant and even Titanium Elite Members have to wait. Apart from that breakfast buffet was more than amazing: western , Indian, Chinese, Indonesian- oh my god- what a variety. I could eat every day gluten free without problem. I would go to this resort any time- kudos to management and stuff!
Great room and lovely hotel. Renovation works going on at one of the buildings while we were they but this did not impact our stay. Excellent facilities, good food and lovely atmosphere. A lot busier than other hotels we stayed at in Bali but plenty of room to swim, longe in the sun and relax. A lovely way to end our Bali trip.
We are extremely disappointed with our stay at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, especially after coming from a wonderful hotel in Canggu.
Unfortunately, the Westin currently feels more like a construction site than a five-star resort. One of the buildings is undergoing renovation, and one of the pools is also closed due to renovation. Throughout the day, there is constant construction noise, which can even be heard inside the room and at the pool.
What disappoints us most is that there was no clear warning or disclaimer about the ongoing construction work when we made our booking. Had we known about the extent of the renovations and the resulting noise and closures, we would not have chosen this hotel. We raised the issue and asked to change rooms, but unfortunately no better alternative could be offered. The personnel is not really supporting. The fact that we are Bonvoy Marriott Gold members doesn‘t seem to matter.
On top of this, the rooms and many of the amenities feel dated. This is simply not the experience we expected from a Bonvoy Marriott resort. The overall atmosphere feels impersonal and lacking warmth. The only positive thing is the nice beach.
We came here expecting a relaxing beach holiday, but instead we are spending our stay surrounded by renovation work and construction noise.
Very disappointing, Westin Nusa Dua.
Our first trip to Bali couldn't have been better. The staff here were so kind, genuinely friendly and went above and beyond .One of my kids has food allergies which I informed the hotel about prior. Upon check in one of the chefs Justin came down to go over the details then every day at breakfast the other chef Adi spoke to us to check on suitable foods. Free morning yoga classes were so relaxing. Beautiful bar overlooking the beach. 5 star food at all of the restaurants. Clean modern well designed rooms. Free kids clubs with daily activities. Bicycles to hire were fun for the whole family. We utilized the day spa-one of the best facilities Ive been to. Amazing family friendly hotel , great value for a luxurious experience.
Stayed for 4 days in the last week of April. The beach is the biggest draw. The hotel is well maintained. Beds are comfortable . Staff is nice and polite. Breakfast spread is extensive, but average in taste.
Lot of wellness activities, throughout the day and many are free for the rsidents. This needs a special mention. The gym is good
