Beachfront and good vibes!
As an Irishman, I knew that a resort called Potato Head was the right spot for me! And if sustainability, an artistic environment, and an epic beachfront are important to you, this is the right spot for you!
My partner and I recently stayed at Desa Potato Head for 2 nights and it was a wonderful experience. Whilst our room had some electrical quirks (lights and TV would occasionally turn on in the middle of the night if we had something plugged in to a specific powerpoint), and interesting shower behaviour (water would briefly run from shower head at roughly the same time in the early hours of the morning), these quirks did not sour our experience.
The resort/village has an energy that is both relaxing and inspiring, with good vibes, fantastic artwork, and incredible architecture in abundance!
After a tasty breakfast at Ijen, you could easily spend the day relaxing around the pool on one of the daybeds that are exclusive to Desa Potato Head hotel guests. It’s also the perfect spot to enjoy some breathtaking sunsets!
We really enjoyed our dinners at Tanaman (shout out to Unita for the beautifully immersive spiritual culinary experience) and Kaum, and we only heard great things about the other restaurants. We watched our last Bali sunset of this trip from Sunset Park, the hotel’s rooftop bar, whilst enjoying a couple of delicious cocktails that were made by the wonderful team (shoutout to Ari for being a legend!).
Whilst all the staff were friendly, attentive, and pretty damn awesome, we would like to give a special shout out to the beautiful soul, Ira, at Ijen! Ira was so warm and friendly from the moment we met her, and her ability to connect with guests was clear to see. Thank you, Ira, for helping us have an amazing few days at Desa Potato Head!
We loved our time at Desa Potato Head and will definitely be back soon :)
Wonderful Stay with a Few Small Areas for Improvement
Overall, we had the best experience during our stay at Desa Potato Head. The staff were consistently friendly, warm, and welcoming, which really made our stay enjoyable. There were just a couple of small things that could be improved: 2. The welcome towel had a slightly sour smell, so it may be worth checking the freshness of the towels before they are given to guests. 4. We ordered room service and also requested for the ice in our room to be refilled. The room service arrived, but the ice refill was forgotten. The staff kindly mentioned that they would come back with it, but unfortunately, no one returned. These were minor issues and did not take away from our overall wonderful experience, but we thought it would be helpful to share them as areas for improvement. We truly appreciate the hospitality and friendliness of the entire team.
Bali Trip
It was a lovely experience staying at Desa Potato Head Bali. I had an amazing stay from start to finish.
A special shout-out to Anastasia, Yogi (Senior Desa Host), and Jeremy (Duty Manager) for arranging such a wonderful birthday surprise—it truly made my celebration unforgettable.
Thank you as well to Isaura and Roy at Reception for making both my check-in and check-out process smooth and welcoming.
The exceptional hospitality and attention to detail made my stay even more memorable. I will definitely be coming back very soon. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Desa Potato Head to celebrate our son’s birthday as a recommendation from our cousin. it was such a unique experience from start to finish.
A big thank you to the front office team and Tasya for helping us, reservation team and Khrisna for assuring us with our choice and expectations as a first timer. and the Experience Team for personally helping my wife with her arrangements. Your kindness and attention to detail really meant a lot to us.

Very inclusive and fun
Cocktail session was epic !!!! Putra and saka were on the tools today and they made it so fun Very interactive and delicious. You must sign up !!!!!

The juice ( Jamu) session was also very cool.
Tanaman restaurant. Yip it’s vegan but as a non vegan it was delicious !!! It’s over in the M suites
Day beds - book it in -whatever takes your fancy. Up front for pool / beach view but further back - even in the grass for people watching
Sunset bar - goes without saying but the staff up there are awesome !!! Love a good chat ..
Rooms - perfect . In room bar - make your own cocktails - all the usual amenities - turn down service - a couple of sneaky treats.
Overall I recommend for an almost all inclusive experience -as in vibe - brekkie- room amenities - staff- it’s good !! Enjoy.
