The service is what really stood out at the Outrigger especially Feen & Touey, personalised service remembering my name from the first time. Such great friendly staff made the resort feel very welcoming. The grounds were all very well kept, the pool and restaurant were across the road from the main building with all the rooms, crossing guards were very attentive to help you cross. The pools were all different depths too which is good and a waterslide for kids. Food was well presented and had Thai and Western options, breakfast buffet also had all the options. Plenty of families and kids at the resort. The main part of Lamai town is about 10-15 min walk away but there are plenty of massage and 7Eleven on either of the hotel. I didn’t swim in the beach at the front of the resort, it seemed to look nicer a bit further down closer to central Lamai. On the last night they had a singers and a fire show which was great.
We had a brilliant weeks stay - the hotel is a beautiful, colonnial style hotel, with excellent rooms and beautifully appointed and decorated and excellent aircon. Minor point but we were on ground floor looking outwards at the back, but we wished we had internal facing ones with a balcony overlooking the 'internal' but outside pool. This internal pool was a nice touch, very picturesque and you could eat breakfast overlooking it.
The main pool and restaurant area is over the main road, however they have men to help you cross so it isn't too much of a hassle. You just need to remember to take everything you need as it isn't onsite. There is a good games room with pool tables and aircon!
The food was great and cocktails lovely. We did all-inclusive - as my daughter has an egg allergy so we weren't sure what eating out would be like - and they were great and very attentive. They got to know us too so we didn't need to show the AI cards everytime. Tommy was fab. The buffet breakfast also very comprehensive with omelette/ egg stations.
The beach and sand when we were there weren't amazing, we didn't swim in the sea instead stayed by the pools. There is a great little massage place on the little island next to the hotel which we visited twice.
We did a few trips, Overlap Stone and the waterfalls which were good. We did Pig Island but it was a bit over crowded and touristy, plus a bit dirty if you dont like pigs! But the long-tail boat was great. We visited Fishermans Village market one night by Grab taxi (about 25 mins) but worth it.
I would recommend and go back!
Good location, beside seaside with great gulf views, clean, great long sandy with stalls alongside. Rooms clean and well laid out, only setback is lack of wall hooks or hangers where it could be useful, especially in the wash room during bath time. Overall it’s a great vacation to be associated with.
Superb hotel with exceptionally kind and attentive staff. Everything was perfect.
Our family stay at this hotel and on this beautiful island was absolutely incredible. We already feel a little nostalgic now that we’re back home.
A special thank you to Non at the reception. He is truly amazing, and our children absolutely loved him!
We highly recommend this hotel without hesitation. We stayed in a Lamai Club Suite, which was especially well suited for families with children.
Lovely family hotel. Good for younger kids. Most staff tried to acomidat as well as they can. The vip club is not as exiting as you might think. Not very useful if you're taking several rooms in different standards... than it kind'a defeats the being together purpose... So make a note.
