I came to Vietnam from Canada and have travelled extensively throughout Southeast Asia. Honestly, the way we were treated was shocking and something I have never experienced before.

After checking out, we were asked to get off the bus because a laundry bag was missing from our room, even though I had already given my laundry to the hotel. The receptionist’s attitude was extremely rude and embarrassing, and we were told to pay 30 ,000 VND for the missing bag.

The hotel is also far from the city, the surrounding area did not feel safe, the bathroom fixtures were old, and the air conditioning did not work properly.

Overall, the service and professionalism were far below what we expected. I hope management takes this feedback seriously.

I travel frequently from Canada to Southeast Asia and have visited many different countries and stayed in many hotels. Unfortunately, my experience at Golden Bay was one of the most disappointing parts of this trip.

We were a group of around 30 people traveling through Vietnam and visiting four different cities. The hotel is quite far from the city center, which already makes getting around less convenient.

We also had to take our laundry outside the hotel because the hotel’s laundry service was expensive. When we were leaving the hotel by bus, some members of our group had their laundry in the hotel’s disposable laundry bags. The hotel staff stopped the bus and made one of our group members get off, accusing her of taking the hotel’s laundry bag. They demanded that she return the bag or pay for it.

In another incident, another member of our group was asked to get off the bus because the staff claimed that one of the hotel slippers was missing from her room. She had to leave the bus while they checked. Later, the hotel staff found the slipper themselves and simply told her she could go.

This was extremely embarrassing and uncomfortable, especially in front of a group of around 30 travelers.

What made it even more surprising was that our tour leader had already warned us about this kind of situation. We were told that even if we accidentally took something as small as a pencil from the hotel, the staff might come after us and even check our luggage.

I have traveled extensively from Canada to Southeast Asia and to many other countries, and I have never experienced this kind of treatment in a hotel.

A hotel should make its guests feel welcome and respected, not make them feel as though they are potential thieves when they are leaving.

The hotel may have some positive aspects, but the way these incidents were handled was unacceptable and left a very unpleasant impression on our entire group.
