Maspalomas Holiday

If your idea of a perfect holiday location includes acres of sandy, golden beaches stretching as far as the eye can see, then you could well be dreaming of a holiday in Maspalomas. This resort, situated on the southernmost tip of the island of Gran Canaria, boasts over 6 km of beautiful coastline with softly undulating sand dunes.

Adjacent to the beach resort of Playa del Inglés and to the Maspalomas Natural Dune Reserve, Maspalomas is a holiday destination many visitors return to year after year.

When to go:

The temperature in Maspalomas is often in the mid-20s for the whole year and can reach 30°C. The hottest weather is between June and September, when you can expect 13 hours of sunshine per day.

Top Attractions:

The Dunas de Maspalomas have to be one of the best attractions in Maspalomas. Keen to try something new? Hop on the back of a camel and explore!

The Strandpromenade Meloneras is another top attraction, offering a lovely long stroll with shops and restaurants to browse along the way. If you’re looking for a quick change of scenery, the sea is just on the other side!

What’s more, the 55m high Maspalomas Lighthouse or “El Faro de Maspalomas” has been an icon of the resort since 1890.

Beaches:

Tourists in Maspalomas are spoilt for choice when it comes to the beaches.

Playa de Maspalomas has to be the most obvious (and exotic!) choice of beach in the resort. A huge beach with excellent amenities for tourists, you’ll enjoy relaxing on the sand, bathing in the waters and popping into restaurants for a refreshing ice cream (or cocktail perhaps!).

Playa de San Agustin is a pleasant beach to relax on, and is not far from Playa de las Burras situated nearby.

Whether you choose one beach to sit on for your entire holiday or whether you explore a few beaches, there are plenty to discover in Maspalomas.

Restaurants and Dining:

Just like the beaches in Maspalomas, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants and dining in the resort.

You will find western-inspired restaurants, perfect for those who like their home comfort food. And, if you dare to be different you’ll find Spanish restaurants, European, Mediterranean and more.

LoLa provides amazing, international food that is well received by British tourists. While the West End Restaurant does a great, traditional steak.

Other restaurants to try are Gorbea Restaurant and Wapa Tapa, both serving a huge choice of foods.

Entertainment:

When it comes to nightlife, Maspalomas definitely isn’t lacking!

There are loads of nighttime bars and clubs to choose from, whatever your preferred evening scene.

Want to try Karaoke? Then head to Moonlight Sports and Karaoke Bar.

The Eiffel Bar is another popular place for a few evening drinks, as well as Shenanigans Irish Entertainment Bar Playa del Ingles and Atelier Cocktail Bar.

Culture

The Templo Ecumenico de San Salvador is an usual church that makes for an interesting visit.

You’ll find various companies offering scuba and snorkeling experiences, as well as air tours, safaris and more.

Why not have a go at kitesurfing or windsurfing?

Palmitos Park is great for those who like nature and the outdoors. While it is not an experience to dose up on adrenaline, it is fascinating to see the animals in their natural habitat.
