United Arab Emirates - Dubai and Further Emirates Travel Advice

Entry Requirements for United Arab Emirates (Except Abu Dhabi)

Entry requirements differ by country. The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) issues country specific travel advice including Health, Visa and Vaccination requirements.

Please note that these requirements can change at any time and therefore we recommend that you check this page regularly and the FCDO advice here - https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/united-arab-emirates/entry-requirements

Passport validity

To enter the UAE, your passport must have an ‘expiry date’ at least 6 months after the date you arrive.

If you’re travelling through the UAE and not passing through immigration, your passport must have an expiry date at least 3 months after the date you will transit.

Visa

British Passport can obtain a visitor or tourist visa free of charge upon arrival in the UAE. There's no need to apply before traveling. Your passport will be stamped with the visa at immigration, and it will be valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, starting from your first entry into the UAE. You can use this visa for a continuous stay or multiple visits, as long as the total duration does not exceed 90 days within the 180-day timeframe.
