The Chedi Muscat Hotel

It’s difficult to put into words just how incredible our experience at The Chedi Muscat has been. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, but what truly makes this place extraordinary is the people. The level of warmth, care and genuine Omani hospitality we received was beyond anything we could have expected.

I have to start with a very special mention for Shwe, who has been nothing short of phenomenal. From the very first contact, long before we even arrived in Oman, Shwe went above and beyond for us. Every detail was handled with such care and thoughtfulness, and nothing was ever too much trouble. By the time we arrived, we already felt incredibly well looked after. Shwe is an absolute credit to The Chedi and genuinely made our experience special from beginning to end.

A massive thank you also goes to the entire team. The service throughout our stay was outstanding — attentive without ever being intrusive, professional yet incredibly warm and personal. We were made to feel genuinely valued as guests from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.

There are so many wonderful people who deserve recognition. Richard from the Lounge was fantastic and always made us feel so welcome. Issam from Concierge was exceptional, incredibly helpful and always there whenever we needed anything. Chib from the restaurant was an absolute pleasure and looked after us brilliantly.

And a very special thank you to Abdul, who gave us such a wonderful personalised tour and took us around all the must-see spots. His knowledge, warmth and personal attention made the experience so much more memorable. It never felt like just another tour — Abdul genuinely took the time to make sure we experienced the very best of Oman, and it became one of the highlights of our trip.

Honestly, the list could go on and on. There were so many members of the team who contributed to making our stay unforgettable. What impressed us most was the consistency — whether it was the lounge, concierge, restaurants, reception or simply passing members of staff around the hotel, we were always greeted with genuine warmth, kindness and a smile.

The Chedi Muscat is undoubtedly a breathtaking and luxurious hotel, but its people are what truly make it world-class. The team took an already spectacular property and turned our stay into an experience and a collection of memories that we will genuinely treasure.

To Shwe, Richard, Issam, Chib, Abdul and the entire Chedi team — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You completely exceeded our expectations and made our time in Oman incredibly special.

We arrived as guests and genuinely left feeling as though we had been looked after by friends.

Our stay at The Chedi Muscat was truly exceptional. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and elegant, but what makes it such a special place is, above all, its wonderful staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for, and whenever we needed assistance or any of the hotel’s services, the team was always attentive, kind and incredibly professional.

We would especially like to thank Chips and her wonderful restaurant team, Marwan and Richard at the Club Lounge, and Fatim, Saiful and Kitto from Housekeeping for taking such great care of us throughout our stay. A special thank you also to Sinta and Sanjana for their amazing Balinese massages – a truly relaxing experience.

And finally, a very special mention to Mari at the Main Restaurant reception. Her warmth, kindness and beautiful smile made every visit a pleasure. She is one of those people who naturally makes guests feel welcome and truly represents the spirit of hospitality at The Chedi.

If we could suggest just one small improvement, it would be to change the half-board menu at the Main Restaurant more regularly, especially for guests staying several nights, as a little more variety would make the dining experience even better.

Thank you to the entire Chedi team for making our stay in Muscat so memorable. We came for the beauty and elegance of The Chedi, but we will remember it above all for its people.

A true gem in Muscat, and a place we would return to without hesitation. ❤️

I am a regular guest at the hotel, and I often order drinks from the lobby and have them brought to me at the beach area. This is something I have done before and, as far as I understand, it is permitted. I also pay for the service, so I do not see why I should be made to feel uncomfortable for choosing a drink from another outlet.

When my drink was delivered, Abbas made a comment suggesting that their restaurant also makes good drinks. I politely thanked him and simply continued with my drink. I did not make any disrespectful comment towards him or his restaurant.

Later, there was a cat near my feet, and because I am genuinely afraid of cats, I asked for someone to help remove it. Abbas responded by saying, “Wait, I’ll call Richard to come and remove it.” Richard is from the other restaurant.

It was not just what was said, but the attitude and the way the whole situation was handled that I found disrespectful and unnecessary. I felt uncomfortable enough that I decided to leave the beach restaurant and go back to the lobby restaurant instead.

I want to be very clear: I am not complaining because someone did not remove a cat immediately. I am complaining because, as a paying and regular guest, I felt that I was being treated in an uncomfortable and dismissive manner simply because I chose to order my drink from the lobby.

I genuinely like this hotel, I enjoy the restaurants and the drinks, and I come here regularly. That is exactly why this experience disappointed me so much. I should be able to enjoy my time here without feeling judged, unwelcome, or disrespected by a staff member.

I would appreciate it if this incident with Abbas is taken seriously and addressed appropriately. I expect professional and respectful treatment every time I visit the hotel. I would also like to take this opportunity to specifically thank Richard for the way he handled the situation. He was extremely respectful, professional, and considerate. He genuinely knows how to deal with guests in a way that makes us feel valued and respected.
